On Monday, July 20th Mercy Education Project (MEP) hosted the 22nd Annual Side-by-Side Golf Outing at Walnut Creek Country Club in South Lyon. One hundred and sixty eight golfers enjoyed 18 holes of golf followed by a sumptuous banquet dinner and auction with all proceeds benefitting Mercy Education Project.  The event was one of the largest and most successful outings for MEP,...

Women in the Advanced Adult Basic Education Program participate in networking with local professional women.

 

At the end of November, two dozen students from Mercy Education Project’s Women’s Educational Services program and more than a dozen local professional women gathered at Henry Ford College in Dearborn for a day of networking and skill building.

Jane Kersjes, a self-described “golf-nut” and DTE Energy retiree lives life to the fullest – incorporating an abundance of volunteer activities into her busy life.

This fall she begins her ninth year as a weekly tutor in MEP’s Girls’ After School Tutoring Program. We are so grateful Jane found her way to our tutoring program in 2009 after she read about MEP volunteer opportunities in DTE Energy’s employee newsletter.
