Executive Director
Amy Amador, M.S.W.
Amy joined Mercy Education Project in 2006 as executive director. A native of Tennessee, she came to Detroit as a member of the Passionists’ volunteer program after graduating from the University of Notre Dame. Amy had been an administrator and program director at social service agencies in Southwest Detroit, where she also lives, before coming to MEP. She has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan with a focus on social policy and evaluation of community and social systems.
A former volunteer in the Girls’ Tutoring Program at MEP, Amy has led the agency through the development of the Emerging Leaders summer program, creation of an endowment, the development and completion of one strategic plan, and the development and current execution of MEP’s second strategic planning process.
Director, Development and Marketing
Sister Maureen Mulcrone, R.S.M.,
Sister Maureen grew up in Detroit and entered the Sisters of Mercy after attending Mercy High School. She graduated from Mercy College of Detroit and holds additional degrees from Boston University and Weston School of Theology. Before coming to MEP in 2002, her professional experience included secondary education, healthcare administration, religious community leadership, governance experience and teaching at University of Detroit Mercy as an affiliate professor in the College of Health Professions.
A former volunteer in the Women’s Program at MEP, Sister Maureen has increased MEP’s annual giving, developed the annual Doorway to the Future Dinner, and started both major gifts and planned giving initiatives.
