Mercy Education Project’s New Strategic Plan, 2012-14
Mercy Education Project (MEP) has recently completed its Strategic Plan for 2012-14. Using a process led by Board and Administration and relying heavily on input from MEP Staff as well as a large number of internal and external stakeholders, this Strategic Plan is embedded in two critical concepts: Sustainability and Scalability.
[Sustainability] To ensure MEP’s financial future the Plan calls for the development of a reserve fund and the creation of policies for growing and protecting its endowment fund and for utilizing surplus funds. In addition the Board has committed itself in the first year of the Plan to engaging in a think tank on earned income and to challenging each board member to commit to a personal development plan for assisting the organization to meet its financial needs.
[Scalability] The Plan has adopted the concept of managed growth for the next three years. As part of this commitment, MEP will dedicate itself to five percent annual growth within each of its two main programs: its Women’s Program and its Girls’ Tutorial Program. In addition the Board has named a Site Committee to continue to explore a location and facility that will appropriately meet MEP’s growth over the next three years.
While the development of this Plan has already entailed countless hours for Board, Administration, and Staff, now that this Strategic Plan has been formulated and adopted, the hard work of setting goals, objectives, and benchmarks becomes the immediate task.
The achievements of the Plan will be reviewed in an annual fall board retreat. Progress in completing the Strategic Plan and any significant developments will be reported at appropriate intervals. In the meantime, the Mercy Education Project Board expresses its thanks to all of you who have already played a critical role in assisting us in conceiving and articulating this Plan.

Here are some recent comments from community members, volunteers, students and others who are commenting on Mercy Education Project.
"There is no more important work being done than that of Mercy Education Project, which is helping to craft the lives of future women leaders. I am so proud to be a part of its mission and purpose. MEP deserves the support of the entire state."

"We can't support every good cause, but Mercy Education Project achieves such profound academic results within its small budget …its programs must be sustained. Too many young girls and women are in need of MEP’s services – they are counting on us.”
