Doorway to the Future

14th Annual MEP Doorway Dinner Cancelled

Please see the full letter from Heidi Raubenolt, Executive Director below:

Dear MEP Community,

Like many of you, MEP has been monitoring the situation with COVID-19, the coronavirus, and its impact upon our work. The well-being of our students, volunteers, staff and supporters is our top concern. Guidance from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) on March 11, 2020, included cancelling or postponing large gatherings of more than 100 people in a shared space. Consistent with this, the appeal from our Governor and CDC recommendations, it is with a heavy heart that we announce our decision to cancel the Doorway to the Future Dinner scheduled for March 26, 2020. At this time, we are not planning to reschedule the event.

I know we all agree that as a community we must prioritize our public health and we cannot risk the safety of our staff, volunteers, donors and their guests. We regret the loss of this important event to MEP as it is one which allows our donor base to learn from our students the amazing work that occurs each day in our building. We will be reaching out to our sponsors and our those who purchased tables and tickets with further information of our plans to honor their gifts and commitment.

Thank you for your continued support of Mercy Education Project during this difficult time. We hope that you and your families remain healthy and safe. While this COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted so much, our services and the needs of our community continue. We hope you will consider supporting MEP throughout this difficult time.

Questions about sponsorships and tickets can be directed to Janette Phillips, our Director of Development and Major Gifts at [email protected]. Janette and her team will be reaching out to all sponsors and ticket holders directly next week.

Thank you for your continued strong support of Mercy Education Project.

Heidi Raubenolt
