MEP volunteers allow us to provide excellent educational services to help many girls and women while keeping our operational costs low.

Here are some ways you can help:

  • Tutor
  • Teach
  • Answer phones and welcome students
  • Host a house party for MEP
  • Assist with girls’ activities
  • Chaperone a field trip
  • Present in a field of interest
  • Share a skill
  • Collect items on our Wish List
  • Introduce MEP to your friends
  • Help with clerical tasks


Tutors are needed for girls in grades 2 - 12. Help students who are below grade level in reading and/or math strengthen their academic skills and their confidence as learners. Check out our flyer for more details.

Below are the specifications for volunteer tutors:

  • After-school program, late-September to late-May
  • One-on-one, curriculum-based (not just homework help) format
  • Tutors work with the same student(s) throughout the year
  • Training & materials are provided
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
  • 4:15 - 5:45 p.m and/or 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Tutors are also needed for women in our adult literacy and GED preparation classes.

  • Help students with reading, writing and math
  • Tutor one or more days weekly
  • Small group or one-to-one instruction
  • Training & materials are provided
  • Monday-Thursday, 9:00- 11:30 a.m and/or 11:30 a.m - 1:30 p.m.
