Girls’ Programming

MEP broadens students’ experiences while increasing their academic skills, self-esteem and leadership abilities as they plan for their bright futures.

One-to-One Tutoring Program

MEP supports girls in grades 2-12 through education, leadership development, and social-emotional learning.

We help girls who are one or more years behind their grade level in reading or math gain the academic confidence they need to succeed in school.

How We Do It

MEP focuses on math and reading improvement with evidence- based, one-to-one tutoring that has been proven to work. Our weekly tutoring program includes:

  • 4:00 - 6:30 PM on either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday

  • Transportation to MEP for students within our bus route

  • Pre-assessments to determine achievement gaps and establish a baseline

  • Thoughtful student-to-tutor matching

  • 60 minutes of an engaging STEAM or Social-Emotional Learning activity before tutoring

  • 60 minutes of one-to-one tutoring in math or reading with a trained tutor

  • Ongoing assessments to measure academic improvement

  • Field trips and family engagement activities

  • Dinner provided
